This repo contains both the survey instruments, analysis documents, and data from the learning R survey.
The R Community Survey repository contains survey instruments, analysis documents, and data from annual surveys of the R community conducted by RStudio starting in December 2018. The surveys gather data about R users’ learning experiences, tool usage, and community involvement.
The repository provides yearly survey data in tab-delimited format, data dictionaries for coding open-text responses, and R Markdown processing scripts for analysis. The surveys track consistent questions over time to identify trends, though they rely on convenience sampling from RStudio’s community channels (community forums, Twitter, Reddit), which means the data is not representative of the entire R community. Additional features include gender identification coding using the gendercoder package and exploratory visualizations of survey results.
